I often get the question of how we ended up living in Wilmington, from Seattle, WA. When our daughter was looking at colleges, UNCW was on her list that she compiled from Top 10 Surfing Schools and Top 10 Marine Biology Schools. We made the trip from Seattle and we both fell in love with Wilmington – it helped that I had friends from childhood and college who lived here! I knew I could convince my Southern California beach loving husband to move across country to fulfill a dream of living our best coastal life. It has not disappointed. Wilmington is now our home. We believe in community and being active in all aspects of this community. Our whole family has actively supported charities such as Step Up. Michael provides professional career counseling, and two of our children have been involved in the childcare for the participants of Step Up during the classes. I am active on the American Heart Association Heart Ball Committee as well as financially supporting the AHA. We believe in supporting our neighbors whether it be clearing trees after a hurricane, serving meals to those in need, or providing essentials to those in need. Our family motto has always been  “See a need fill it” – that goes for replacing paper towels or providing comfort or in this case providing a CoWorking space that allows for creativity, productivity, and collaboration. We also have been receiving a lot of questions on how we came up with the name for our coworking space. The book ‘Blue Mind – The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, Or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, And Better At What You Do’ by Wallace J. Nichols resonated with me as I have always felt grounded and happier when I am near the ocean. At Blue Mind Coworking we strive to bring the essence of these findings to our coworking community. As your Community Success Manager my goal is to help you be more successful, to bring people together to inspire productivity and collaboration, and to make everyone feel the Blue Mind Coworking is a space they can do their best work.
